William B. "Bill" McCallops

November 11, 1929 — April 25, 2018

CHAMPION- William B. Bill McCallops, 88, formerly of the Vanbrocklin Road, died on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Hospice Home of Jefferson County surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 11, 1929 in Champion, New York to the late Arnold A. Mildred M. Chubb McCallops. Bill attended the one room school house in Champion, NY he did carpentry work, worked for the Town of Champion and he was a Farmer, he owned and operated a Dairy Farm for the majority of his life in Deer River.
He married Evelyn L. Waite on August 20, 1948 at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Philadelphia, NY. Mrs. McCallops died on December 20, 2004.
He is survived by several children, Carol (Heriberto) Gutierrez, Champion; Linda (Patrick) Ryan, Georgia; Bruce McCallops, Colorado; Teri (Mannie) McCallops, Philippines; and Laura McCallops, Champion. He is also survived by two sisters, Marjorie Schloeder, Carthage; Rose Hastings, (Carthage); and 6-grandchildren, 14-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his Canine Companion Frankie.
He is predeceased by one sister, 2-grandchildren and 1-great grandson.
He enjoyed woodworking especially making bird feeders, he was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed doing puzzles, in his younger days he spent time hunting, and lately he loved watching, COPS and Live PD.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 1-3pm at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., located at 500 State Street in Carthage, NY 13619. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at 3:00pm with the Lay Minister, Sara Walsemann, who is Bills sister-law. Burial will be held privately by his family in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Naumburg.
