CARTHAGE- Thomas R. Garrett, 63, of 34088 North Lake Road, Champion, died on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
He was born on March 24, 1951 in Carthage to Thomas L. & the late Beatrice E. Gokey Garrett. He received an Associate's Degree from Canton College in Electrical Engineering; he worked for National Grid Hydro Department. He married Charlotte A. Weiss on July 22, 1972 in Whitesboro, New York. He was a member of the St. James Church in Carthage.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing music, boating, spending time at his cottage and hunting camp with his family and friends. He was a member of the Carthage Elks Lodge, BPOE #1762 and the Elijah Lake Hunting Club. He serviced on the Board of Directors.
He is survived by wife, Charlotte, Champion; his father, Thomas L., Carthage; three children; Renee and her husband James Storrs, Carthage, Thomas A. Garrett, Watertown and Stephen J. Garrett, Carthage. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Lillian R. Storrs.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the St. James Catholic Church, Carthage. Burial will be in the spring in the Hillside Cemetery in Champion.
