November 21, 1949 — October 2, 2024

Natural Bridge, New York

NATURAL BRIDGE – Suzanne Kay (Weeks) Rogers, 74, of Lime Street, unexpectedly passed away, peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

Suzanne was born on November 21, 1949, in the Town of Antwerp, the beloved daughter of William and Kathleen (Bailey) Weeks. She graduated from Carthage Central High School with the Class of 1967 and married Frederick Rogers on August 3, 1968. They had two children and were married up until his untimely passing in 1993. She began her working career as a secretary for Carbone Trucking Co. for several years, before becoming a devoted employee of Sovie & Bowie, CPA, where she did clerical work from 1975 – 2000. Her last job before retirement in 2015 was for Professional Practice Management in Watertown, NY.

Suzanne loved spending time with her family and was always readily available to go shopping and have lunch with any of us, but she especially loved spoiling her four grandchildren. Her greatest story is that of when two of her granddaughters (with different due dates) were born on the same day, within three hours of each other, at different hospitals. She always reminded us of what a real dilemma we created for her that day.

Surviving are her two daughters, Nicole (Matthew) Shaw, Brownville, NY, and Renata (Raymond) Rogers, Carthage, NY, her grandchildren, Logan, Sophia, McKenna, and Natalie, several cousins, nieces, and nephews as well as lifelong friends she made throughout the years. When Suzanne’s sister died in a motorcycle accident in 1982 and left behind three small children, she and Fred would often include Christine’s daughters, Renee, Sara, and Heather in their summer trips and loved them like her own.

In addition to being predeceased by her husband, Fred, she has now once again joined her father and mother, Bill and Kay, her brother, Gilbert “Gib” Markwick, and her two sisters, Linda LaGrow and Christine McAllister, as well as her beloved dog, Missy.

Suzanne’s family would like to thank her nearby neighbors, including Paul, Dave and "The Mailman" Danny, who often helped her with yard work, getting her mail, plowing, and keeping an eye out for her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc.,500 State St., Carthage. Online memorial donations can be made at www.lundyfuneralhome.com
