CARTHAGE Shirley A. Newvine, 74, formally of Francis St., passed away at her daughters, Tammy, house on Friday, September 14, 2018 at her home, under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Shirley was born on November 20, 1943 in Potsdam, NY, the daughter of Floyd and Elsie Rose Brayton. She attended schools in Natural Bridge and Harrsiville. She was primarily a Homemaker.
She married James Newvine in 2002 in Carthage. James died on April 10, 2017.
Shirley is survived by three daughters, Tammy Tibbles Hall & her companion Kevin Plantz, Carthage; Angela (Alex) Deshane, Massena; Amy Jarvis, St. Regis Falls; a son, Chris Hendrickson, Wisconsin; one brother, Dwayne Brayton, Florida; three sisters, Rose Fischer, Carthage; Sharlene Adams, Watertown; Denise (John) Ivan, Watertown; a sister-in-law, Joan (Vincent) Casario of Mexico; 10- grandchildren and 12- great-great grandchildren, 1-great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and her beloved Mittens.
She is predeceased by her husband, James, two brothers, Darryll Brayton and Ed. Carlton Brayton.
She loved bird watching, spending time with her family, working in her flower garden.
Calling hours will be held at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service located at 500 State Street in Carthage, NY on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 12:00-2:00pm and a Memorial Service will follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel of the Funeral Home with the Reverend John Ivan, officiating.
Memorial Donations can be made to Hospice of Jefferson County.
