Shirley A. Cullen

WATERTOWN- Shirley A. Cullen, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023, while at Samaritan Summit Village where she resided.

Shirley was born on February 21st, 1928, to the late Judson and Olive LaLonde.

Shirley worked for the former Bomax in Watertown as a machine technician.

Shirley was an artist and loved painting. She enjoyed spending time with her family, who regarded her as a loving mother and grandmother. She also loved her chocolate milk.

She is survived by her children, Ronald Cullen of Albany; Michael (Mary) Cullen, Gouverneur; Candyce Shaw of Dexter; David (Lisa) Cullen of Canton; Jay (Rita) Cullen of Black River, and Suzanne Cullen of Fairbanks, Alaska; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her siblings, Carl LaLonde, Almeida Monteith, Elizabeth “Betty” Arnold, and Joyce Bogenchultz, and a son-in-law, Bob Shaw.

Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. A burial will take place at the Fairview Cemetery in Carthage, where she will be laid to rest alongside her family.

Donations in Shirley’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
