WATERTOWN - Shirley A. Crump, 83, died on Monday, January 12th, 2015 at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown. She had been a resident there for the last two and a half years. She is a former resident of Watertown and Dexter.
Born in Harrisville on July 16, 1931, the daughter of William Clair & Esther Martin Atkinson. She graduated from Harrisville High School in 1948 and then from the Watertown School of Commerce. She married Gerald J. Crump on September 16, 1951 at the Methodist Church in Harrisvlle. Shirley worked for General Motors as well as Buick and Chevrolet car dealers in Watertown before going into banking. She retired from Key Bank in 1992, where she was in charge of commercial lending and floor plans. She enjoyed traveling, being with her family, watching old westerns and "I Love Lucy" on TV and bowling.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald "Gabby", three sons; Gerald W. (Lisa), Huntersville, North Carolina, Douglas (Lisa), Sandy Creek and Tod (Terri), Harrisville, six grandchildren; Timothy, Emily, Thomas, Brent, Chelsea and Gabrielle and one great grandson, Parker. Also surviving are two brothers; Keith (Phyllis), Parkersburg, West Virginia and Larry (Charlotte), Harrisville and a sister, Caroline (Tom) of Rensselaer Falls.
She is predeceased by two brothers; William and Richard and her granddaughter, Tricia Marie.
Shirley's family would like to thank the staff of the Samariatan Keep Home, 8th Floor for their love, dedication, compassion and care. They are truly angels in all our eyes and hearts.
There will be no calling hours, per her request, and a private family service will be held at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. There will be a graveside service in the spring in Harrisville Cemetery.
