Oxbow - Robert L. Lamar, 86, of 42703 Camel Hill Rd., Antwerp, died on Friday, March 6, 2015, at home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
He was born on July 18, 1928 in Edwardsville, NY to the late Joseph and Mary Hance Lamar.
He attended Gouverneur School. He was a farmer and he loved to garden, He and his wife owned and operated a store. He was employed as a general contractor; he retired from the local labor union #322.
He married Coreline Lamar on December 16, 1950 in Gouverneur, New York.
He and his wife Coreline were together for 64 years she died on February 16, 2015.
His hobbies include, gardening, fishing, and going to the casino and playing cards.
Robert is survived by several children, Barbara (Paul) Lamar Crowley, Staten Island; Mary Lamar, Oxbow; Jeffrey (Faye) Lamar, Parishville; Laura( Earl) Swem, Spragueville; Annette Lamar, Oxbow; and several siblings, David Lamar, Rochester; Ted Lamar, Fowler, Jane Robert, Clyde; Betty Smith, Rochester; Trudy Alessandro, Rochester; Connie Lamar, Rochester and one grandchild, Robert Earl Swem, Danamora.
He is predeceased by three brothers, Roger, William, Richard, and two sisters, Inabell Paden and Mary Balitis.
There will be no viewing. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date.
