Carthage - Richard W. Robinson, 90, passed away Friday February 17, 2017 at the Samaritan Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 01, 1926 in Ellisburg, NY to the late Glenn and Marie Wodell Robinson. Richard attended Adams School in Adams, NY. He married Sandra Shultz on March 27, 1976 at their home in Great Bend. Richard served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the Supervisor of Refrigeration at Fort Drum, retiring in 1987.
He is survived by his wife Sandy, three daughters, Betty (Lee) Hunter, Palmyra, NY, JoAnn Anderson, Florida, and Teri Tyner and her companion Jason Sears of Carthage, NY; a son Kevin (Sherri) Robinson of Blythewood, SC. Two Nephews, Steve (Betsy) Robinson, and Tom (Christina) Robinson; 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Richard was predeceased by his brother Bill Robinson.
Richard was an avid sportsman, a member of the Mad River Club, and the American Legion.
Arrangements are with the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. located at 500 State Street in Carthage. A memorial service will be held at the United Community Church, located at 112 N School St, in Carthage on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00am, with The Reverend, Jane Wagner officiating. There will be a celebration of life at the Elks Club following the service.
