DENMARK - Richard Robbins, 74, Old State Rd., Denmark, died on Fri, Jan 2, 2015.
Born in Lowville on Sept. 7, 1940 to Odda & Marion Snyder Robbins, he attended Lowville Academy and Central School. He married Aileen Waugh on June 27, 1959 in the Denmark Bible Church.
He was employed by the X-L Corporation, Indiana, Climax, Castorland and the NY Air Brake, Watertown, before owning Wayside Antiques in Denmark. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. He enjoyed hunting in Potter, NY and fishing in Canada and on the Deer River.
He is survived by his former wife, Aileen Robins, his daughters, Mrs. Brad (Joyce) Herzig, Mrs. Doug (Barbara) Alexander, Mrs. John (Gretchen) Diamond a son, Richard and his fiance, Karlee Mathieu, his brothers, Raymond, Joseph, his sister, Mrs. Steve (Janice) Dye, 17 grandkids, 3 great grandkids, several sister in laws, a brother in law and several nieces and nephews.
Thanks to Sam Sokoloski and his family. Sam found him when he was lost in the woods. Without him, this family would not have been what it is today.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Tues, Jan 6th at the Bethel Church of the Nazarene, Lowville. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Denmark. Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., visitation will be held at the Copenhagen Chapel, 10229 Washington St., on Mon, Jan 5th from 4 - 7 PM.
