Perry A. Weller

October 27, 1928 — November 5, 2015

CARTHAGE- Perry A. Weller, 87, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on the morning of November 5, 2015, while a patient at the Oswego Hospital. Though Perry lived in Carthage most of his life, he resided in Oswego with his son and daughter-in-law for the past few years.
Perry was born on October 27, 1928, in Lowville, to Lester and Pearl (Wakefield) Weller. He attended school in Lowville and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Teresa Gates on March 4, 1951. She died in November, 1993.
Perry is survived by two sisters, Helen Lalone, Virginia; Julia Robinson, New York; as well as three sons, Steve & Linda, Carthage; Randy & Juanita, Lauderdale Lake, Florida; Bruce & Sue, Oswego. He is also survived by seven grandsons, one granddaughter, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Perry is predeceased by his wife, Teresa, six brothers, Duane, Harold, Clifford, Spencer, Vernon, and Lester Jr., three sisters, Shirley, Arletha, and Esther.
Perry was employed in the Service Department of Niagara Mohawk for 28 years. For the majority of his life he was an active member of the Carthage Church of the Nazarene, making many life-long friends.
Perry's greatest treasure was his family, who all share so many wonderful and loving memories of great times at reunions held at his (80' acres). Family members from far and near spent several fun-filled days building cherished memories throughout the years.
As well as his love for family, he enjoyed spending time with large equipment, the bigger the better, at 80 acres building roads, making trails, and developing the land. Among his achievements is the development of Sandy Pines Mobile Home Park following his retirement.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015, from 4-7pm at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at 11:00am at the Carthage Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. David Alison, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be held in the Swinburne Cemetery in Deer River.
