Norma F Young

COPENHAGEN- Norma F. Young, 78, a resident of the Samaritan Keep Home, 133 Pratt Street, Watertown, NY died on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Samaritan Medical Center. She was born on August 22, 1938 in Adams, New York to the late K. Frances & Kathleen Lennox Kellogg. She graduated from High School in Adams Center.
She married Walter L. Young, Sr. on November 17, 1956, Mr. Young died in 1974.
She retired from the Carthage Central School District after many years as a Bus Driver and lunch monitor. She also work for Jefferson County Board of Elections, Grays Flower Shop and at Queens Farm in Copenhagen during her earlier years.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Kim) Foster, Carthage; a son, Walter "Sonny" Young., Jr. Copenhagen; two sisters, Arlene (Frank) Bauer, and Nancy (James) Bice, and 10- grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Walter, and two children, Tamie L. Young, in 2016 and William G. Young, in 1988.
She was a member the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Copenhagen for over 55 years holding many elected positions. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Copenhagen. She was a past member of the Tylerville Rescue Squad. She loved to dance, she enjoyed being around people and spending time with her family.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 4-7pm at Lundy's Funeral Home Copenhagen Chapel 10229 Washington Street in Copenhagen. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Copenhagen at 11:00am. A burial will follow immediately at the Tylerville Cemetery in South Rutland. A celebration of life will be held at the Copenhagen Fire Department after the burial, all friends & family members are invited to attend.
