Philadelphia - Michael G. Dalton, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2nd, 2024, while at Carthage Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation with his loving family and friends by his side.
Michael was born on November 29th, 1943, in Canton to the late John “Ken” and Sarah (Rubado) Dalton. He attended various schools in the area. Michael worked for many local farms, most notably at the VanCour Farm in Evans Mills.
Michael was a true North Country man and he enjoyed all of the spoils that this area has to offer. He loved hunting, fishing, riding snowmobiles, and attending the antique tractor shows at the Stone Mills Agricultural Museum. Much of his time was spent on Star Lake with Jolene and Alfred Austin, whom he lovingly referred to as “Ma & Pa”.
He is survived by his siblings, Warren Dalton of Carthage, Janet (William) Cratsenberg of Calcium, and Rosemary (David Davis) Houghtaling of Evans Mills; a sister-in-law, Barbara Dalton of LaFargeville; many nieces and nephews; and longtime friends, John, Jolene, and Alfred Austin.
He is predeceased by his parents, John and Sarah; his brothers, Raymond Dalton and Thomas Dalton; and nieces Rebecca and Bridget.
Per Michael’s wishes, there will be no services. He will be laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery in Fine, NY alongside his brother, Warren, and the Austin family.
