Mary Jane Burr

CARTHAGE- Mary Jane Burr, 89, died peacefully on early morning on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Jefferson County Hospice Home in Watertown, NY. She was born on December 17, 1935 in Carthage, NY the daughter of the late Howard Oakley & Pearl Agnes (Gadbaw) Woodside. 

Per her wishes there will be no public calling hours. A burial will be held privately by her family. 

She attended school in Carthage, NY. Mary was primarily a homemaker. She also worked as a custodian for several years at Fort Drum and Carthage Central School District.

She married Wellington F. “Bill” Burr on November 24, 1953 at the First United Methodist Church in Carthage. Mr. Burr passed on December 6, 2012.

Mary is survived by her children, Keith A. (Michele) Burr, Carthage, NY; and Dale R. (Molly) Burr, Wilkesboro, NC; 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, "Bill"; and her brothers, Harold D. Woodside, Ray G. Woodside, and Robert J. Woodside.
