Marjorie A. Rancier

Carthage - Marjorie A. Rancier, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14th, 2024, at Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. 

Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the Lundy Funeral Home in Carthage, with a 1 pm service to follow in the Chapel.

Marjorie was born on April 9th, 1927, in Carthage to the late Howard and Bertha (Luenberger) Squairs. She graduated from Carthage School. She was the nursery school assistant for several years at the Carthage Methodist Church. Her marriage to Francis L. Rancier ended in divorce after 25 years.

Marjorie was employed by McDonald's in Carthage as the lobby lady from the day it opened. She could always be found cleaning and loved her work family, especially chatting with her customers, she happily retired after 33 years of dedicated service. She loved to play Bingo, she worked for the Republican National Committee, helping with elections for over twenty years. She enjoyed watching her son play softball. She was very loyal to her faith and a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Carthage.  

She is survived by her son, Terry (Deborah) Rancier, Stormville, NY. Her grandchildren, Michael (Elena) Cerone, Melissa (Adam) Torregrosa, and Kelly (Daniel) Ravo; along with her 5 great-grandchildren, twins, Stella Lilianna, Payton, Ryan, and Grayson. She is predeceased by her parents, Howard and Bertha, and a daughter, Lynn Rancier Pickens in 2008.
