Letitia R. Runge

Carthage - Letitia R. Runge, 96, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

Letitia was born on February 2, 1929, in West Carthage to the late Albert and Beatrice (West) Waters. She graduated from Carthage High School and held various clerical positions in the Carthage School System in her life.

A talented organist, she played for many local churches, including the United Methodist Church, Grace Episcopal Church, and Trinity Episcopal in Watertown. Letitia married Henry Runge on March 15, 1953, in Utica, New York. The couple enjoyed 52 years of marriage before Mr. Runge passed away in January 2005.

She is survived by her two children, Nancy (Richard) Mushtare of Carthage and Bradley (Michelle) Runge of Pulaski, as well as her 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert T. Waters, of Stone Ridge, NY.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry; a son, William Runge; and a brother, George Waters.

Letitia had a deep passion for music and was a former member of the Carthage Music Club.
