Jesse N. Hastings

March 2, 1930 — February 10, 2015

CARTHAGE - Jesse N. Hastings, 84, 222 State St., died Tuesday afternoon at the Carthage Area Hospital, after being a patient for a short time.
Born in Champion, the son of Nelson & Bertha Kidder Hastings on March 2, 1930. He attended school in Copenhagen. He was employed by the Town of Champion and the Town of Rutland; he was a snowplow driver in the winter months. He retired in 1995. He married Rose McCallops on March 15, 1959 in Herrings. He was a member of the Black River Fiddlers Association as well as a member of the Hall of Fame of the Osceola Fiddlers Association. He was a member of the Champion Grange and he was a founder of the Country Stompers Band.
He is survived by his wife, Rose.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 14th at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, with the Rev. Linda J. Harris officiating. Calling hours will be held for two hours prior to the funeral on Saturday, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Spring burial will take place in Sunnyside Cemetery, Great Bend.
