Jeffrey A. Sheltray

CARTHAGE - Jeffrey A. Sheltray, 55, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 12, 2024, at the Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY surrounded by his loving family. 

Jeff was born on February 4, 1969, in Carthage to the late Walter Lee & Mary (Dusharm) Sheltray. He graduated from Carthage Central High School with the Class of 1987. He had worked for Ferrellgas in Carthage for many years, most recently as a sales manager.

Marriages to Michelle McKenna and Cindy Smith both ended in divorce.

Jeffrey was a great father, who loved spending time with his family; he enjoyed various outdoor activities, such as boating, hunting, fishing, and camping. 

He is survived by his mother, Mary D. Sheltray, Carthage; his daughter, McKenna Sheltray & her companion, Kaige Gagnon, Carthage; his sons, Brenden Sheltray of Syracuse and Cole Sheltray, Carthage. Also surviving is one granddaughter, Savannah Brett, a niece Roxanne Sheltray a nephew Josh Sheltray, and his brother, James “Jim” Sheltray, Carthage.

He was predeceased by his father, Walter Lee Sheltray who died in 2000.

Calling Hours will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, June 17, 2024, at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St, Carthage. A Celebration of Life will be held shortly after the calling hours.
