James W. Britton, 80, of Camillus, NY passed away on December 23, 2023. He was born in Carthage, NY, and graduated from Carthage Central High School in 1962. He was employed as a Machine Operator at Cooper Crouse-Hinds in Syracuse. Following retirement, Jim volunteered at Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery. He also donated to charities such as Meals on Wheels and local animal shelters. Jim loved hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.
Jim was predeceased by his parents George and Charlotte (Mealus) Britton; three sisters, Sally LaGrow, Iris Nealy, and Patricia Walburger; two brothers, George and Charles; and his granddaughter Megan Bardrof.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judith A. (Clark) Britton; 5 sons, David (Linda) of Syracuse, Michael (Gail) of Carthage, James (Tamara) of Walworth, NY, Scott Titus (Cindy) of Camden, SC, and Timothy (Nicole) of Spencerport, NY; a daughter, Laura Britton of Rochester; and his brother Judson Britton; 12 grandchildren, Corinne Bardrof, Nicole (Anthony) Potter, Meghan Britton, Blake and Gavin Britton, Christopher Titus, Lauren Browder (Patrick), Nicole Yandle Scott (Austin), Matthew, Julia and Kayleigh Britton; and 4 great-grandchildren; Riley Potter, Forrest Browder, and McKenzie and Isabella Scott.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, January 27th, 2024, followed by a memorial service at 4 pm at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 500 State St., Carthage.
Donations in his memory can be made to Meals on Wheels ECHO, Inc., 4600 West Genesee St., Syracuse, NY 13219.
