CARTHAGE- Howard Gene Hallenbeck, Sr., 74, of of 29 Overlook Ave in Newton Falls, NY, formerly of Carthage, died on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He moved to Newton Falls and lived with his daughter Janet after his retirement.
He was born on March 5, 1943 in Norwich, New York to Clyde and Dorothy Hallenback.
He married Betty Champion, she died in 1993.
He worked for Braeman's manufacturing in Carthage and then for a plastic factory in Texas.
He is survived by several children, Mary (David) Fetie, Potsdam; Tina (Mike) Delong, Carthage; Janet (Gery) Beirman, Newton Falls; Howard (Anita) Hallenbeck Jr., Norwich; Christine (Roger) Tiff, Vermont; and a step-daughter, Brandy Hart. He is also survived by several siblings, Roger, Gerald, Marion, and Joyce, and 14- grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., located at 500 State Street in Carthage.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved watching WWE Wrestling.
