Carthage- Gerald A. Shattuck, 74, died peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at his home under the care of his loving family. He was born on August 29, 1950, in Canton, NY to the late Gerald E. & Viola May (Enslow) Shattuck.
Gerald will be laid to rest with Military Honors in the Hillside Cemetery in Champion, New York. A Celebration of Life will be announced.
He graduated from Cazenovia High School in 1968. Gerald enlisted in the United States Airforce, he served proudly from 1969-1975, he was honorably discharged on April 9, 1975.
Gerald worked for a car dealership in Adams, he retired as a Motor Equipment Operator from the Town of Champion.
He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Shattuck, Tennessee; his four siblings, Thelma Rice, Carthage; Sandra Stevens, Kirkville, NY; Mary Fields, Watertown; Ernie Shattuck, Black River; and a sister-in- law, Betty Endres, Watertown; his 3- granddaughters, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He loved working on vehicles, puttering in his garage, and in his earlier years he enjoyed hunting with his friends. He was a past-member of the Bassett-Baxter American Legion Post #789, Carthage.
Gerald is predeceased by his parents, his wife of 25 years, Shirley (Zeller) Shattuck, a sister, Carol Segovis, and his son Kevin A. Stewart, who died on December 29, 2024.
