George Christman

CARTHAGE - George T. "Ted" Christman Jr., 59, 22608 County Route 42, died Tuesday morning, January 10, 2017 at his home, under the care of his family and Hospice of Lewis County.
Born in West Carthage on May 27, 1957, the son of George & Juanita Gates Christman Sr. He is survived by his wife, Debra A. Bush Christman, his mother of Georgia, a daughter, Samantha Christman, Arizona, a daughter and her husband, Shannon & Jason Banker, Arizona, his step daughters; Rijkayla Smith, Tatiana Stokes and Jonissa Bush, his grandchildren; Madyson and Jaycie Banker and Gavin Teel, and a sister Janice Dillion.
He is predeceased by his father, George and his brother, David Christman.
He graduated from Carthage Central High School in 1975, then enlisted in the United States Army, serving until 1978. After his military service, he began his employment with Climax Manufacturing Co. Carthage in December 1978; he was currently employed there as an electrician. A marriage to Debra A. Mulvaney ended in divorce. George enjoyed many outdoor activities through the years such as hunting, gardening, fishing, snowmobiling and volleyball. He also enjoyed NASCAR and was an Arizona Cardinals fan. He had served as a President of the USW Labor Union until his illness.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 7 PM in the Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. Calling hours will be held on Friday prior to the service, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
