COPENHAGEN - Frank J. Aubin, 77, 9892 Maple Ave., died Thursday morning, May 19, 2016 at home.
Born in Watertown on September 19, 1938, the son of Napoleon & Eva Perrault. He graduated from Copenhagen High School. He served in the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate. He married Mary L. Reed on July 4th, 1959 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Watertown. Mrs. Aubin died on May 13, 2007. Frank retired from the former Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill in Carthage, where he was employed as a Machine Tender. He was an avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed hunting and was very proud of his orange Corvette and enjoyed spending time on his land, which he referred to as "The Ponderosa".
Frank is survived by his daughter and her husband, Deborah L. & David J. Pond, Copenhagen and his 3 grandchildren; Nicole M. Pond, Kelly E. Pond and Chad Aubin. Also surviving are 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his siblings; Leo & Irene Aubin, Claire Haggarty and Rita Gracey. He is also survived by his "riding companion", his dog, Goofy.
Besides his wife, Mary, he is predeceased by his son, Andrew, (1979) his daughter, Wendy (1983) and his siblings, Edward, Conrad, Arthur, Alcid, Cecelia, Maurice and Frankie.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 24th at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Church in Copenhagen. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at 10229 Washington St. on Monday, May 23rd from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc.
His family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Copenhagen Central School Trap Shooting Club.
