Florence L. Berry

Copenhagen- Florence L. Berry, 93, of 2989 Cataract Street, passed away May 20, 2016 at her residence under the care of Hospice of Lewis County.
She was born on November 15, 1922 on Maple Ridge, NY, to John P. and Mary Sullivan Lawlee. Florence graduated from Copenhagen Central School. She married Robert W. Berry on November 9, 1946 at St. Mary's Church in Copenhagen; he predeceased her July 22, 2010. Florence was employed by Copenhagen Central School until retiring in 1982.
She is survived by two daughters, Maureen Berry Rumble & Michael Irey, Carthage, Charlene Berry-Pickering & Gerald Pickering, Victor, one son, Patrick & Evelyn Berry, Stratford, daughter-in-law, Cathy Berry, Turin, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by one son, Robert Berry, son-in-law, Rick Rumble, five sisters and three brothers.
She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Mary's Church, a past President of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #723, and secretary of the Copenhagen Library.
A memorial mass will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Church, 9790 NY-12, Copenhagen, NY 13626. Arrangements are under the direction of Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State Street, Carthage, NY 13619.
