BLACK RIVER - Elfriede "Elfie" "Oma" Davis, 87, 27882 Route 342, died on Friday morning, December 18, 2015 at home, under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Born in Germany on June 27, 1928, the daughter of Rudolf & Friede Knobloch Weber. She married Emerson H. Davis on January 30, 1952 in Germany. They came to the United States in 1954. She was primarily a homemaker; she raised a large family and enjoyed baking bread, listening to German music and watching Professional Wrestling on TV.
She is survived by her children and their spouses; Emerson & Amy Davis, Carthage, Annerose Shawcross, Evans Mills, Eddie & Kathy Davis, Evans Mills, Rita & Jay Cullen, Black River, Anita & Ken Lamica, Black River and Robin Davis, Black River. Also surviving is her sister Ruth Lowe, 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 1-great-great grandchild and her birds, Hansi & Baby.
She is predeceased by her husband, who died in 2006, her son in law, Bruce Shawcross, her daughter in law, Linda Davis, her brother, Rudi Weber, her great granddaughter, Breonna Shawcross and her great-great grandson, Landon Lawrence.
A private memorial service will be held by the family. Burial will be in the Evans Mills Cemetery. There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
