Harrisville- Edward C. Brown, 72, of Handslatt Road, died on Friday September 22, 2017 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York.
He was born on July 29, 1945 in Lowville, a son of the late William Carlton & Mildred Elizabeth Bush Brown. He attended Father Leo Memorial School in Croghan.
On May 20, 1967 he married Constance J. LaFave in Harrisville, New York. The couple just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They have three children, Anthony J. Brown, Harrisville; Joseph D. Brown, Harrisville; and Melody A. Sanborn, Syracuse. He is also survived by four brothers and three sisters, as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandsons. He is predeceased by a brother, Donald Brown.
He was employed as a Rewind Operator for the Newton Falls Paper Mill, retiring in 2003 after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Carthage and volunteered for the New Bremen Fire Department. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed puttering in his garage.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. James Catholic Church with The Reverend Donald Robinson officiating. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
