CARTHAGE- Donald Glen Beirman age 69, formerly of the Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
His burial will be held at a later date in the Felts Mills Cemetery, where Donald will be laid to rest alongside his parents.
He was born on December 16, 1955, in Carthage to the late James William Sr. and Beverly Jean (Shoen) Beirman. He graduated from Carthage High School. Donald proudly served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. A marriage to Deborah (Secor) ended in divorce.
He is also survived by Ashley Burt, Mary Varnon, Crystal Chamberlin, and Jayel Kennedy who became his adopted daughters and granddaughters. He is survived by a daughter, Michelle Beirman Czupryna, along with his siblings, James William Beirman Jr. of Natural Bridge; Richard Alan Beirman, Herrings; and Kevin Roy Beirman, Carthage; and several nieces and nephews.
Donald always had a smile and will be remembered for always wearing a cowboy hat! His smile was contagious. You could often find him sitting at the entrance of Summit Village playing music and greeting visitors. He would often deliver papers to his neighbors and took joy in riding his scooter to take back his cans and bottles. Later he decided to move back to Carthage to be closer to his roots! He was loved dearly by everyone who knew him.
He is predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Shawnna Lynn Cunningham in 2023, his two brothers, George G. Beirman in 1976 and William F. Beirman in 2013 and his sister who recently just passed Linda Beirman in 2024.He was a member of the Bassett Baxter Post # 789 Carthage American Legion.
