Daniel T Delaney

EVANS MILLS- Daniel T. Delaney, 68, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Hospice Home of Jefferson County under the care of hospice and his family. He was born on April 12, 1948, in Cornwall Ontario, Canada; the son of the late Thorold and Eleanor Baron Delaney. He was one of five children. He graduated from Indian River High School. He served in the United States Army from 1968-1974. Daniel was a Quality Control Manager on Fort Drum.
Daniel was a man of many interests; he loved spending time in his garden, working on his home and most of all spending time with his family. Dan enjoyed watching his grandchildren thrive in sports and theatre, and would often be found outside throwing a football or walking with the kids in his garden. He was a man of his word, and stuck to the principal that a handshake was a contract, for this and many other qualities he had many friends and was very loved in his community.
He is survived by several children, Kathie & Napoleon Jones Dobbins, Watertown; Kelly Jones, Alabama; Nichoel Patterson, Washington; Sonia & Mike Johnsen, Washington; and Tamra Delaney, Evans Mills; a sister, Joan & Dale Sweitzer, Central Square; two brothers, Dwight Delaney, Blaine & Patricia Delaney, all of Evans Mills; he is also survived by 13-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by a brother, Brian Delaney in 2015.
Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2-4pm at the Northridge Cremation Chapel located at 31291 Town Line Road, Philadelphia, NY 13673. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm at the Funeral Home followed by a Military Service.
Arrangements are being handled by the Northridge Cremation Chapel owned and operated by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service located 500 State Street in Carthage. Online Condolences can be made at www.lundyfuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made toward his funeral expenses.
