Charles B. Meyer

CARTHAGE Charles B. Meyer, 58, of Alexandria Street, died on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse.
Charles was born on February 21, 1959, a son of the late Harold Sandy B. and Grace M. Chisamore Meyer. He graduated from Carthage Central School. He was employed as a Machine Operator by Climax Manufacturing for over 25 years, until its closing. He then worked at various places. Most recently, he was an equipment operator for Champion Materials, Carthage.
He is survived by three sons, Shawn R. Cummins; Ryan S. Cummins; and Alan S. Cummins, all of Carthage; seven siblings, Katherine (Edward) Hedlund of Clifton Park; Jo A. Downey of Seilkirk; Helen M. Williams of Carthage; Michael T. (Joanne) Meyer of Croghan; Nancy J. (James Quigley) Bush of Lewes, Delaware; Mary E. Meyer of Carthage; and Frances E. Meyer of Latham. He is predeceased by a brother, Stephen K. Meyer.
Charles was a past EMT for the Carthage Rescue Squad. He enjoyed hunting, visiting with his friends, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Calling hours will be held at Lundy Funeral Home, 500 State St., Carthage, on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 3-6 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6 PM in the funeral home Chapel. There will be a gathering at the Carthage VFW following the funeral service.
Donations in Charles memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057. Donations may also be made to the Great Bend Fire Department, PO Box 182, Great Bend, NY 13643 or the Copenhagen Fire Department, PO Box 364, Copenhagen, NY 13626, as he was very proud of his sons dedicated service to them.
