Carole Lynch

CARTHAGE - Carole E. Lynch, 82, died early Wednesday morning, June 14th, 2017 at the Country Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre, Carthage, where she had been a resident since 2014. Previously she lived at Brady Acres for many years before moving to the High Rise in 2001.
Born in Carthage on September 19, 1934, the daughter of Kenneth and Lois Shampine Staie, she attended local schools. She married Ross Christman on June 27, 1952 and they had five children together, before their divorce in 1975. She then married Jack Lynch; that marriage ended in divorce. She was employed by the former Chesebrough-Pond's/Sherwood Medical in Watertown, before working for the Town of Wilna Housing Authority, at Brady Acres and Long Falls Apts. in Carthage. She retired in 1997.
She had many hobbies and interests, such as gardening, going for motorcycle rides, cooking baking and shopping, before moving to Country Manor in 2014. She was very active in the social activities and religious services there. She especially enjoyed karaoke and bingo. For the last several years, she enjoyed spending time with her close companion, Jim Monaghan; the pair could often be seen driving around Carthage on their motorized wheelchairs.
Carole is survived by her children and their respective spouses; Kevin & Sharon Christman, Carthage, Bruce Christman, Bridgewater, NY, Scott & Violet Christman, Carthage, Jeff & Naura Christman, Carthage and Jacqueline Reid, Carthage. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. She is predeceased by her siblings; Shirley Marshall, Gary Staie and Buddy Staie.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of the funeral home. Calling Hours will be held from 1:00-3:00pm at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, with the Rev. Wayne Arnold, officiating. Burial will be held privately by the family.
