Brian W. MacCue

Carthage – Brian W. “Soupbone” MacCue, 56, died peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024, at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born on July 19, 1968, in Gouverneur, NY to Sherwood MacCue and the late Cynthia Fuller. He graduated from Lowville Academy in 1987. Climax employed him as a Millwright in Lowville for 26 years. Brian also worked for various local farms. 

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 15th, 2024, from 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 500 State Street, Carthage. A Graveside Service will be held the following Friday, November 22nd, 2024, at noon in the Fairview Cemetery in Carthage, with the Rev. Canon Samuel P. Lundy, officiating.

Brian is survived by his father, Sherwood “Butch” MacCue, his companion of 17 loving years, Robin (Davis) Weatherhead, his siblings, Scott (Wendy) MacCue, Croghan; and Craig (Jamey) MacCue, Carthage; his daughter, Brianne MacCue, Castorland; his three grandchildren, Nathan, Kiersten, and Camden, his nieces and nephew, Alison, Meghan, Corey, and Hailey and his Aunt Sherry Chartrand and several cousins. Robin’s children also survive him, David W. Weatherhead, Jamie Weatherhead, and Robin’s granddaughters, Jaya, Kora, and Ellie. 

He was predeceased by his mother, Cynthia MacCue in 2014.

Brian enjoyed hunting, and fishing and he was an avid hockey fan who enjoyed watching the Watertown wolves and enjoyed attending local racing events. He traveled the northeast competing in arm wrestling tournaments.
