PLESSIS - Brian A. "Papa" Delaney, 77, 25932 NYS Route 26, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, passed on peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY, Friday, September 18th, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 26th, 1938, the son of Thorold and Eleanor Baron Delaney of Monkland, Ontario, Canada; he was the oldest of five children. Brian attended Avonmore, Ontario schools. They moved to Alexandria Bay, NY in November, 1957 where Brian met Carol VanBrocklin. The two later married on September 29, 1962. He worked on numerous farms and delivered fuel oil until finding his passion as a school bus driver and mechanic for the Alexandria Central School, retiring in 2011 after 42 years of service.
Brian was a member of the Plessis Volunteer Fire Department for 49 years. He had a love for "tinkering" with small engines and all aspects of firewood. He also enjoyed the company of his toy poodle, Bailee.
He is survived by his three children; Lori Parrow and her fiancee, Les Stanton, LaFargeville, Lana Babcock and her husband Michael, Plessis and his son, Len Delaney and his companion Kerri Hunneyman, Redwood, his sister and her husband, Joan & Dale Sweitzer, Central Square, his brothers, Dwight and Daniel; and her brother Blaine and his wife Patricia, all from Evans Mills. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren; Natasha, Jordan, Angel, Skyler, Brianna, Joshua, A'darra and Lucas, as well as his two great grandchildren; Braelyn and Brookelynn, also five nephews and eight nieces.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Carol "Nana", his infant daughter, Lisa and both parents.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25th at 6:00 PM at the Northridge Cremation Chapel, 31291 Town Line Rd., Philadelphia, with his son in law, Rev. Mike, officiating. Calling hours will be held on Friday, at the Funeral Home prior to the service, from 2:00 - 6:00 PM. Online condolences can be made atwww.lundyfuneralhome.com.
