CARTHAGE, NY- Adrian W. Varney, 74, formerly of Parishville, NY, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica.
He was born May 23, 1940 to William Adolphus Varney and Rita Gardner Varney.
He attended Hudson Falls High School. After, he became a roofer for over 20 years. He worked for the Town of Lake George for 2 years and later became a short order cook and a bartender in Glens Falls. He also worked for a short time in Florida.
He married Maria (Mary Signor) Varney on November 20, 1991 in Fairhaven, Vermont. They moved to Parishville, where they lived for over 2 years and then settled in Carthage.
Adrian was a lover of fishing, photography, and he and Maria enjoyed cooking together, dancing and candlelight evenings. He also enjoyed crosswords; and was an expert.
He and Maria wrote poems for each other that became published internationally.
The most important thing in Adrian's life was his love for God and Family.
In memoriam of, Adrian asked in his memory that, every day do something nice for someone and be kind to each other.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., located at 500 State Street in Carthage. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 3:00pm with The Reverend Ed. Murphy, officiating.
