Carthage – Kevin Buckley, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, October 8th, 2023, at home with his loving children by his side under the care of Hospice.
He was born on September 28, 1956, in Watertown, New York to the late Robert & Madeline (Doolittle) Buckley. He graduated from General Brown High School in 1974, he then enlisted in the United States Navy on October 1, 1974, and he was honorably discharged on July 31, 1996, retiring as a Senior Chief USN.
He is survived by his five boys, Matthew Genter, Dexter ME; Jordan (Tamera) Buckley, Melbourne FL; Ian (Joanna) Buckley, Charleston IL; Nikolas (Kaylee) Buckley, of Carthage NY, Gregory (Simms) Buckley, Oceanside CA; he was also a loving grandfather of several grandchildren, he is survived by two brothers, Terry Buckley, Mike Buckley, and a sister Patricia Morgan.
Kevin was a former commander and proud life member of the Bassett Baxter American Legion Post #789, Carthage, where his picture is currently on the wall. A member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Carthage. He loved watching football, fishing, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is predeceased by a brother, Gary Buckley, and a sister, Yvonne Hunter.
There will be a celebration of life to be announced and per his wishes, he will be buried at sea. -Fair Winds and Following Seas-
