Edwin J. Lawton, Jr.

CARTHAGE – Edwin J. Lawton Jr.,49, died peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Albany Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2023, from 2:30 pm-4:00 pm in the Carthage Park Rec Building.

Edwin was born in Carthage on September 3, 1973, the son of the late Edwin J. Lawton & Priscilla (Sanders) Lawton.  He attended school in Carthage.

On August 15, 2009, he married Candy Mono.

He enjoyed drawing, playing cards and dice, along with spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and all his animals. Edwin loved country music and occasionally enjoyed dancing in the rain, his nickname was “Puddles.”

Survivors include his wife, Candy Lawton, Carthage; his mother, Priscilla Lawton, Carthage; his children, Christopher Moore, Watertown; a daughter, KC and her husband Carlos Alfonso, Carthage; Brandon Lawton and his fiancé Nichelle, Natural Bridge; Kylee (George) Bevens, Carthage; Greg (Michele) Gladle, Gouverneur; and Carrie Gladle, Carthage; along with a sister Sabrina (John) Bushey of West Carthage; his brother, Joseph (Lumilla) Lawton of Croghan. His Grandchildren, Addie, Alora, Maddox, Paisley, Braylee, Laila, Dom, Ella, Mac, Asher, Annie, and Kirra, and his beloved dog Charlie and several special nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his father Edwin J. Lawton and his aunt Sandy Lawton, and many other aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
