CICERO – Jeffrey L. Burker, 63, of Diffin Road, died Thursday night, October 5, 2017 at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital, Syracuse.
Jeffrey was born on June 12, 1954 in Lowville, New York, a son of the late Harold and Patricia Northrup Burker. In 1972, he graduated from Lowville Academy. He went on to receive an Associate’s Degree in Animal Science from SUNY Cobleskill. He operated a dairy farm with his father from 1974 to 2000. In 2004, he began working as a Crop Insurance Adjuster for Wells Fargo, retiring in 2017.
He enjoyed fishing and watching live sporting events including hockey and baseball. His true passion in life was agriculture, and it wasn’t usually long into a conversation with him before he’d start talking about the local apple orchards. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by a daughter, Reagan (Randy) Burker Hulbert of Lowville; two sons, Todd Burker (Emily Remington) of Carthage; Tyler (Tricia) Burker of Lowville; three sisters, Michelle Bellomo of North Carolina; Penny Stoffle of Weedsport, NY; Leslie (Tom) Fine of Brewster, NY; a brother, Greg Burker of Watson; six grandchildren, Hannah; Hayden; Holden; Addison; Grayson; and Oliver; several nieces and nephews; and a special Aunt and Uncle, Elizabeth and Ray Szalach.
