Gerald "Jarry" Leslie Lautenschlager

It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we mourn the passing of Gerald "Jarry" Leslie Lautenschlager, of Layton, Utah, on March 23, 2024, at the age of 87. Jarry was born in Castorland, New York, in 1937, and departed on his final journey, leaving behind a legacy of courage, military and aviation industry service, and profound Christian faith.

Calling Hours and a service will be announced soon. A Graveside Service and burial will be held in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Zecher Rd., Naumburg later this summer.

Jarry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanetta A. Christman Lautenschlager, who passed away in Feb. of 2018. Together, they shared a life rich in love, faith, and commitment, leaving a legacy of warmth and unity that continues to inspire their family and all who knew them. Jarry is survived by his loving family, including his four children, Rebecca A. Jones, Gerald L., Jr., Stephen J., and Jeffrey L. He was also a proud grandfather, great-grandfather, and great - great grandfather leaving behind a legacy that will continue to flourish. Each family member carries forward a part of Jarry’s spirit, embodying his virtues and continuing the traditions of love, service, and faith he cherished so deeply.

A service celebrating Jarry’s life will be held at Christian Life Center, on April 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with full military honors to commemorate his unwavering service to his country and Christian faith. The family invites all who knew Jarry to join in remembering a man whose life was a beacon of hope, kindness, and inspiration.

As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we take solace in the knowledge that his legacy will live on through his family, his deeds, and the love he shared with all of us. Rest in peace, Jarry. Your journey has been a beacon of light for us all, and your legacy will forever soar in the hearts of those you’ve left behind.
